These are the five single-malts we tasted –

Dalwhinnie 15 Year: Smooth, aromatic, heather and honey sweetness. Great chilled.

• Lagavulin 16 Year: Aged in oak casks for at least sixteen years, this much sought-after single malt has the massive peat-smoke that’s typical of southern Islay – but also offering a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting dram

• Talisker Storm: An intense and vibrant whiskey. Well balanced waves of smoke and sweetness. Savor Talisker Storm’s peppery sweet and salty flavors neat, or draw them out with a little water.

• Oban 14 Year: Flavors of orange peel, smoke, sea salt, and honey distinguish this full-bodied highland malt

• Cragganmore 12 Year: The taste is quite light compared to the scent, mixing honey with a basket of nutty flavors. The finish starts off a little peppery, and rolls out into pleasant, smoky warmth. It’s a pleasant, and only slightly complex sipper, just the sort of thing for a go-to single malt for everyday drinking or to use as a starter or next step Scotch.

The Dalmore 18

Do you know someone who loves whisky? Are you struggling to find the
right gift for someone as the holidays are just around the corner? The
Dalmore 18 is an excellent whisky that has been aged in both bourbon and
sherry casks. This whisky is a perfect example of Dalmore’s trademark IMG_3347 2
style with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate and orange, followed by a
hint of cinnamon and citrus fruit. The Dalmore 18 is a well balanced and
smooth whisky that is a perfect gift for friends and/or family. Relax
and sit by the fire while enjoying the delicious flavor Dalmore has to
offer.

The Dalmore Cigar Malt

Are you looking for a smooth whisky that will have you craving for more?
The Dalmore Cigar Malt has been aged in three types of casks; bourbon,
sherry, and cabernet sauvignon. There are cinnamon, vanilla, and red
fruit aromas with finishing notes of orange, dark chocolate and spices.
This rich tasting whisky has just the right amount of smokiness and
pairs perfectly with a fine cigar.

The weather this past weekend could not be COLDER! So naturally, we wanted to make this month’s cocktail a warm and toasty concoction. The Hot Toddy is a cocktail that people have come to love, especially since it’s supposed to help reduce cold symptoms. Our team loves making their Hot Toddy with Rowan’s Creek Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey, which has notes of sweet caramel and vanilla to round out the cocktail.

  • Putnam New England Rye Whiskey from Boston Harbor Distillery – Offers a sharper, earthy finish that you can only get from Rye and it wraps the whole experience up for an unforgettable silky, smooth whiskey.
  • Nor’Easter Bourbon Whiskey by Triple Eight Distillery – The climate and geography have a noticeable impact on the taste of the bourbon. The distillery’s proximity to the ocean and marine haze (Nantucket is nicknamed “The Grey Lady” ) add a touch of salinity to the bourbon.
  • Rowan’s Creek Bourbon Whiskey by Willett Distillery – On the palate you are treated to sweet caramel, vanilla, dusted in floral notes… Finishing notes of oak and a lingering spiciness.
