It’s officially Fall, and we couldn’t be more excited for the foliage, trips to the farm, pumpkin beer, and hardier cocktails. This month we wanted to take a cocktail we love, the margarita, and make it fall-themed. Cause, why not!

We used one of our very favorite tequilas for this cocktail – Milagro. Not only is it smooth, but it’s reasonably priced. Great value, indeed. The Apple Cranberry Margarita would be perfect for small gatherings this Halloween. Just add a few fake spiders into the glasses to make it festive and spooky.

Ingredients:

  • 2  ounces of Milagro tequila, or something equally as delicious
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider (or juice)
  • 1/4 cup of cranberry juice
  • Splash of soda water
  • One apple slice for garnish

Make: Pour tequila, apple cider, and cranberry juice together. Mix and strain into glass. Add soda water and garnish.

Love ice? Keep it in a fancy mug!

Summer isn’t over yet! In fact, we have a month left of HOT and sunny weather. So pull out your blender and mix up this month’s tasty and sweet Frozen Pina Colada. You, and your quarantine crew, won’t regret it!

This delicious cocktail recipe comes from Vera, our cocktail guru at MWS.  What makes this recipe so great? The ice cream… of course!

Ingredients:

  • Coconut Gelato | we used Häagen-Daz’s Pineapple Coconut | 1 scoop
  • 1 Oz of pineapple juice
  • .25 oz of Coco Lopez
  • 1.5 oz of Bacardi Silver
  • .25 Doc Brown Really Bad Dark Rum (more if you want to add a floater)
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • Maraschino Cherries and whipped cream for a garnish

Make: Add all ingredients into a blender and mix well. Garnish with a cherry and whipped cream

Want to make it a little more fun? Add a dark rum floater to the top of your drink!

Ready for a DELICIOUS, refreshing, and hydrating cocktail?! If so, then look no further than our July Cocktail of The Month. The Summer Cucumber Spritzer was created using one of the finest cucumber vodkas we carry, V-One Vodka. This vodka is infused with real Polish ‘ogórek’ cucumbers with just a hint of Meyer lemon to create a truly refreshing and drinkable flavored vodka. 

Seriously – it’s an amazing vodka!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces of V-One Vodka – Cucumber Flavored
  • 1 cup of soda water – we used Perrier (ginger beer is also a good choice too)
  • 2 lime wedges (one squeezed and one for garnish)
  • A hint of lemonade juice to sweeten it up (any juice would work)

Make: Mix it all together and enjoy it on a sunny warm day!

This cocktail is PERFECT for hot summer days and with added health benefits from the fresh watermelon juice, there is nothing not to love about this tasty cocktail. You know our style, easy and delicious, and while this cocktail does take some muddling work, I assure you, it’s worth it. The fresh juice from the watermelon really makes a big difference, plus the little chunks of watermelon add to the complexity of the drink.

Make it today –

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Tequila (we love Milagro)
  • An ounce of Soda Water
  • Splash of lemonade
  • 1 ounce of fresh watermelon (we used about 3 small slices to muddle for 2 drinks)
  • 1 fresh lime
  • A handful of fresh mint

 

 

Make:

  • Start off by cutting up the watermelon and putting it in a jar, muddle it and add juice from 1 lime, mint and tequila (let it soak for about 10 minutes)
  • Add lemonade to the jar and shake
  • Pour mixture over ice and top with soda water
  • Enjoy!

There are no hard or fast rules to making this or any cocktail! Add more soda water or juice if you want. Get creative and just remember to have a good time!

This month one of the newest members of the Mystic Wine Shoppe team, who also happens to be a bartender, is sharing his favorite go-to cocktail with us for the April Cocktails of The Month. That’s right, COCKTAILS, Ben is giving us TWO of his favorite cocktails!

First up, the Rum Manhattan Cocktail. Ben loves using the delicious Zaya Rum in many of his creations, and this cocktail he mixed up for us, sure packs a tasty punch.

Ingredients/Make:

  • 2 oz Dark rum (we love Zaya Rum! It has a mildly sweet aroma followed by vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and oak barrel spices)
  • 1 oz sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes bitters
  • Stir add an orange twist

 

Next up, the Contessa Cocktail:

Ingredients/Make:

  • 1 oz dry vermouth
  • 1 oz Plymouth Gin
  • 1 oz Aperol
  • Stir add a lemon twist

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner, so we thought it was time for an Irish-themed cocktail of the month! This cocktail is more of a dessert so get ready to dig in and savor this month’s cocktail – the Irish Ice Cream Cocktail. As always, our cocktails are EASY and delicious.   • The Irishman Irish Cream: Produced in Ireland, this award-winning Irish Cream Liqueur is handcrafted using the finest Irish Whiskey, 100% Irish Dairy Cream and natural vanilla flavor with a hint of toffee.
  • Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
  • Toppings: Whipped cream would have been a perfect addition

This may be one of our favorite Cocktails of The Month yet! Just think about a warm, chocolatey, and toasty hot cocoa and you’ve got this month’s recipe. We made this one easy for you because we know you’re busy with wrapping presents and trimming the tree 🙂 Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • RumChata to taste
    • RumChata is the perfect blend of Rum, Cream, Cinnamon, and Vanilla.
  • 1 Cup Hot Cocoa | we used a packet of hot cocoa mix and added in a teaspoon of cacao powder to add a nutritional benefit, cause why not
  • Toppings: Marshmallows, chocolate bits, and whipped cream (you could also try crushed up andes mints)

Make it: Add the Rum Chata to your hot cup of hot cocoa and top with marshmallows and chocolate bits!!! ENJOY!
